From 9th February 2026, you will be required to use multifactor authentication (MFA) to sign in to your conservatoire Microsoft 365 account when working off campus. This includes when you access to systems which use Microsoft 365 to log in, like Space and Show.
Set Up and Configure MFA
The first time you sign in to your Microsoft 365 account after 9th February, you will need to set up and configure MFA. You will need two devices, for example a laptop and a smartphone.

Go to office.com/login
on your desktop device and enter your conservatoire email and password, then
press “sign in”

You will be shown the “we require additional
information” message and then after 5 seconds be redirected to the next page
- Once redirected, press “next” to continue to the
MFA registration screen

You will need to download an authenticator app to
your mobile device; we recommend Microsoft
Authenticator. Once the Microsoft Authenticator app is installed on your
device, press “next”

Continue setting up your account by opening your
authenticator app, then press “next”

In the authenticator app on your mobile device, select the plus “+” icon to add a new account. On the next screen you must
select “work or school account”

Scan the QR code on your desktop device
with the authenticator app, following the
on-screen instructions, then press “next”
- Your authenticator app on your mobile device
will give you a code, enter the code on your desktop device and press “next”

If the authentication is
successful, you will be given confirmation of with the “notification approved”
message. You can press “next” to continue
- Success! Multifactor authentication (MFA) is now
set up on your account, press “done” and you will be signed in to your
conservatoire Microsoft account
Additional Information
Once you have followed the above steps to configure your multifactor authentication, you won’t need to repeat this process.
Each time you sign in to your conservatoire Microsoft account off-campus, you will need to use your authenticator app to get your one-time code before.
