Instructions

The Panopto Editor: Trimming your video

Hover over your chosen video thumbnail

Click on the clapboard icon to open the editor.

Click on the scissors tool.

To trim the start and end of your video, simply click and drag from either end of the video region.

To cut a segment, click and drag to select the desired portion of the video. You can fine tune this by clicking and dragging the edge of the selection.

In the top menu:

  • Use the undo button to reverse your latest change.
  • Use the redo button to restore undone changes.
  • The revert button removes all changes during the current session, returning your video to its original condition.

Save your changes by clicking on “Apply”.

Once the session has processed, you will be able to review your edited video.

NB: The trim function is non-destructive – this means your edits will still be there, and you will be able to restore your original video.
