Change a Panopto and Files assignment

You can download an accessible PDF version of this answer at the bottom of the page. Alternatively, watch the screencast overview of these instructions on Panopto.

Before submitting your work, always make sure you’ve identified the correct submission type.

Instructions

  • To change your submission, navigate to the assignment portal on Space, choose one of the following options:
    • Edit submission – allows you to update parts of the submission without withdrawing it altogether. You can update the assignment length, for example.
    • Remove submission – this withdraws your submission; removes all the files you uploaded and Panopto sessions from the submission form.

  • If you select "remove submission", click "continue" on the next screen to confirm you are withdrawing your submission.

Changing Your Files

  • You can add additional files simply by dragging and dropping them into the file submission box

  • To remove one of your files, first click on its thumbnail

  • In the pop-up window, select “delete”

  • Finally, confirm that you wish to delete your file

  • You can then drag and drop a replacement file into the file submission box

  • If you’re replacing a file, or adding another one, you must wait for the upload progress to fully complete before you can save your changes

  • Once you see thumbnails for your file(s), the upload has competed

Changing Your Panopto Session(s)

  • To add another Panopto session to your submission, place your cursor after any existing sessions in the “Panopto video link” box.
  • Then press the “Panopto” button to insert/upload more sessions.

  • If you want to remove any of the sessions from your submission, simply highlight/select them and press delete/backspace on your keyboard.

  • After pressing the Panopto button, either choose another video to insert, or upload a new one.
  • Both of these processes are shown in the Submit a Panopto assignment guide.

  • Once you’ve made any to your files and/or the “Panopto video link” field, complete the other fields on the submission form:
    • Check the declaration box
    • Update your assignment length, in minutes and seconds
    • Press “save changes” to resubmit your assignment

  • You will be returned to the submission status page, where you will be able to see your work has been submitted for grading. You can also click the thumbnail of your Panopto session(s) to view them and check your specified assignment length on this page.
  • Clicking the “+” icon in the “Panopto video link” field allows you to see all the videos you attached to the submission form.

  • Your work is ready to be marked by the assessors, check back once the grades have been released for your marks and feedback.

Changing Panopto and Files assignments after the deadline

If you wish to change your submission after the assignment deadline, you must complete the Submission Portal Unlock Form. Once your submission is unlocked, you can resubmit for up to 7 days after your deadline; be aware your work will be subject to a late penalty.

The above also applies if you have an extension granted by student support or approved additional consideration, and you want to change your submission after your extended deadline.
