Instructions
1. Open or create your post.
2. Click on the “Block Inserter” icon in the top left to add a block.
3. In the block drawer, scroll down to the "Widgets" section and choose the "Custom HTML" block.
4. The HTML block will display as a text field. In this, you will paste in your embed code from your external media source.
Examples of how to obtain embed codes can be seen below:
To find the code on YouTube, click "Share", select "Embed", then copy the code.
On Spotify, click on the three dots on the right-hand side of your track, choose "Share", and then choose "Embed".
5. Back on Show, paste the code into the "Custom HTML" block. The embedded media will now appear as HTML text while in edit mode.
6. Click on "Preview" in the top right corner of "Show". The embed code will now display as the actual embedded media, just as it will appear when published.
In addition to the "Custom HTML" block, you can also choose from a variety of site-specific blocks found under the "Embed" section in the block drawer. These blocks often require just a simple URL instead of an embed code, and each includes its own set of instructions. However, in most cases, the "Custom HTML" block will be sufficient for embedding media.
